About the Founder


Creating a more just society is Dr. Shari Miles-Cohen’s life’s work. She has 30 years of experience building and leading initiatives and organizations that develop leaders and improve lives — with a special emphasis on women, people of color, people with disabilities, and those in STEMM.  In 2024, she founded Leading Across Difference to propel even more organizations and executives toward their ambitious growth goals by, first and foremost, acknowledging and embracing leaders’ unique strengths and contributions. 

Dr. Miles-Cohen is an accomplished scholar, researcher and people developer. Recognized by the Obama White House, Howard University, and Johns Hopkins University as a respected thought leader and practitioner, Dr. Miles-Cohen has authored more than 30 articles and book chapters, delivered several global plenaries/keynotes, and received two Presidential citations for her commitment to advocacy. Leading Across Difference translates her macro-and micro-learnings to support social and economic equity, as well as leader empowerment.
